Congratulations to Palate and Alpino who this week both picked up a hat at the 2023 Cuisine Good Food Awards.

Hayes Common, Mr Pickles and The Shack were also recognised as great spots to try.

We couldn’t agree more but believe there are a number of other fine places in our region worth some accolades.  What do you think?

Rototuna library opened last month complete with a flash new café, Chapter One.
New Turkish restaurant, Kapadokya recently opened on Victoria Street in Hamilton.  Also, in the city River Kitchen is set to make a comeback.

A little birdie tells me Sage is set to open its permanent restaurant in Hamilton East (above Duck Island) later this month.  Also in Hamilton East, Made is getting closer to opening (thought to be October).  Watch this space for more.

At The Market

The Waikato Farmers Markets have a few new stall holders including -The Little Dairy Company from Whangamata making Gouda Cheese from their own 100% A2 pasteurised milk.

Cothu Nutrition and Wellness can be found at the Hamilton Farmers market with organic chicken bone broth.

Tauwhare Berry Farm have frozen berries and berry ice-creams but will soon have lots of fresh berries.

Hello Mushrooms offer a variety of mushrooms. Gathering Sage are at the Cambridge Farmers market with fresh plant-based baking using local ingredients.
